For nearly 70 years, our patients have come to expect the highest quality of health care at Bon Secours Mary Immaculate Hospital. This commitment to excellence was recently confirmed by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) 2021 Overall Hospital Quality Star Ratings. Mary Immaculate Hospital earned a 5-star rating, the highest score possible.
“The 5-star rating of Mary Immaculate is a laudable achievement that places the hospital among the top facilities in the nation,” says Amy Carrier, president of Bon Secours Hampton Roads. “I am proud of the CMS rating as it underscores Bon Secours’ commitment to consistently improving the quality care we provided to our patients. This achievement was only possible due to the hard work, dedication and compassion of our physicians, nurses and staff.”
The rating is an extension of recent advancements and achievements at the hospital. Mary Immaculate continues to be the provider of choice on the Virginia Peninsula with exceptional surgical, procedural and mother-baby services.
The Overall Hospital Quality Star ratings published by CMS are designed to help compare hospitals by evaluating safety, quality and patient experience. CMS assigns ratings of one to five stars to more than 4,500 hospitals nationwide based on their performance across five areas of quality.
